Q is for Quail

This is Razzle Dazzle. She is one of my coturnix quail and the most friendly. When she was young I taught her how to garden with me.

I learned the hard way that she doesn't enjoy riding in the car, which is why she never comes to the farm with me. But I always look forward to the first warm spring day she joins me in the backyard.

Although always a little unsure at first, she soon loses herself in her enjoyment of being in the soil. As a ground bird, there are so many wonderful goodies for a little quail there.

She quickly becomes more confident and either takes a sand bath or finds a little crack to wander out into the sun.

Besides Razzle, this week the winds were strong enough that I had to disassemble parts of the greenhouse. Thankfully it was easy to get back up.

We looked at some land and there are some more we are looking at. So we are still hoping!

The seedlings are coming along well. This week I am planting cabbage, broccoli and kale. I love kale from the farm.

Razzle Dazzle and I hope you were able to enjoy the sun as much as we did!
